1966 Oldsmobile Toronado
1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - Stunning Dubonnet Plum - Factory A/C - Beautiful Car!
Presenting a gorgeous 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado Deluxe in excellent condition inside and out. This car has undergone a wonderful restoration on what was already a well-preserved example. It shows only 79K miles, which we believe to be original. Finished in its ultra-unique and rare original color, Dubonnet Plum, paired with a matching plum interior. This was the first year of the Toronado, GM's pioneering front-wheel-drive production car, and it's recognized as a "Milestone Car" by the Milestone Car Society.
Powered by a massive 425 ci V8, factory-rated at an impressive 385 horsepower, this Toronado is loaded with factory options like air conditioning, climate control, power windows, 6-way power seat, Tilt-Telescopic steering wheel, power trunk release, and AM-FM radio. This groundbreaking car was ahead of its time in 1966, featuring many unique, futuristic innovations.
These cars are rare, typically found in either rough-to-average condition or exceptionally well-preserved. This is one of the very few examples in truly outstanding condition. It's evident that this car was an honest, well-cared-for vehicle even before its restoration. The fit and finish are exceptional, with paint as smooth as glass and depth that seems endless. The interior looks as if it just rolled off the showroom floor. Mechanically, this Toronado runs and drives like a dream. Truly, this is the one to own!

Current Condition:
Exterior:
The body is pristine and arrow-straight with no rust or previous damage. It received a stunning repaint in its original Dubonnet color, polished to a smooth, high-gloss finish. Hidden pop-up headlights operate flawlessly. The bumpers were re-chromed, with the rear bumper notched for exhaust. The trim, grille, and taillights are in excellent condition, complemented by optional cornering lights. The factory chrome wheels shine brilliantly, fitted with new Vogue white wall radial tires. The only minor flaws include a ding on the right rear wheel opening molding and a slight scuff on the left rear trim ring. All glass is in excellent, crystal-clear condition.
Interior:
The interior looks showroom-new, fully redone with OEM materials to match the rare Dubonnet exterior. The dash is in mint condition, with a near-perfect original steering wheel (one small hairline flaw). It features a barrel-roll speedometer, a working clock, a rare signal-seeking AM-FM radio, and functioning climate control. The rare tilt and telescopic wheel add to its uniqueness. The original molded floor mat is in near-perfect shape, a rarity in itself. Door panels are pristine with new carpet and weatherstripping. The headliner and visors are excellent, with the original Oldsmobile vanity mirror intact. The strato seat with bucket backs and bench bottom includes a full set of original plum-colored seat belts. Everything works, except for the power antenna. The trunk is nicely finished with the correct spare and jack.
Mechanical:
Under the hood lies the massive 425ci V8 engine, which runs excellent. There are receipts for thousands of dollars spent on mechanical upkeep, and it shows in how well the car drives. The engine bay is all stock, clean, and beautifully detailed. The air conditioning system was completely rebuilt and blows ice-cold air. The transmission shifts smoothly, the brakes are responsive, and the suspension is tight, providing an exceptional driving experience. The dual exhaust sounds fantastic, utilizing a transverse muffler with exhaust tips exiting through the rear bumper. The underside is exceptionally clean and completely rust-free—ready to drive anywhere with confidence.
