1965 Mustang Convertible - C-Code V8 - Auto - A/C - Life-Long Arizona Car!

Here is an exceptional find! This is a one family-owned, 1965 Mustang Convertible that was sold new at Read Mullan Ford in Phoenix, Arizona, and has spent its entire life in the dry Southwest and the Phoenix area specifically and it shows! It was assembled in the San Jose, California plant and shipped to the Phoenix District when new. It is essentially an untouched survivor that runs and drives and is totally rust-free! The odometer shows 62,003 miles and the title shows Box A or actual miles!

As per my photos, it is obvious that the car needs and definitely deserves a beautiful restoration. The sheet metal is 100% rust-free and entirely original to this car! The Torque Boxes are in mint condition and you would be hard-pressed to find even any surface rust on any underside part! The body has a few minor bumps and bruises but it appears to have no accident history and may well still have its original paint! Most importantly, it is as rock solid and rust-free as you would expect an Arizona car to be! The original color is Champagne Beige w/Palomino interior but could be refinished in any factory color.

When we found the car a couple of years ago, it had been sitting in the back corner of the family garage for some years. To get it running and make it somewhat driveable again, we did the following: New Fuel tank, Rebuilt the carburetor, New water pump, New battery, New brake wheel cylinders, and shoes. The engine runs fairly smooth and quiet and doesn't smoke although it does need a tune-up. The transmission shifts fine and the car drives fairly well considering old tires and suspension, etc. It runs and drives but is not necessarily roadworthy. The AC compressor and bracket are missing. I was going to give it a total restoration and rebuild making all this a moot point but, the fact is, this will be an easy and straightforward project and worthy of your time and investment!

The interior is all there except for the visors, the shifter plate, and a small trim panel on the console. All the gauges appear to work including the tachometer. The clock and radio are inoperable. The power top motor runs but the system appears low on fluid and the top won't raise but it is complete.

I was saving this little beauty to build for myself but I have too many other projects ahead of it and can't see getting to it in the foreseeable future. Now; with all due respect to everyone, I know everybody likes to negotiate the price, as I do, but in this case, the Buy It Now price will be Firm so please don't get offended when I say no lesser offers will be considered.
