Overview Of Entire Vehicle: *Condition #2- (Gorgeous and Rare Cadillac)

Here is an absolutely gorgeous 1940 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special Sedan in amazing condition inside and out and features the extremely rare option; Sunshine Turret Top, which is a sliding sunroof. This is one of the first Cadillac models to ever feature such an option and is so extremely rare that only 230 were ever produced in 1940. The turret top is in working condition and this is one of the coolest Cadillac sedans out there as you cant fit your friends and family and slide the top back with a convertible feel. This car was completely restored from the ground up in the late 80's. It was all done to OEM specs with the highest quality and with no expense spared. This was probably a 6-figure restoration when it was performed and would be even more today considering the quality and craftsmanship. It was restored by Tyree's Classic Auto Restoration and is magnificent. The car appears to have only 216 miles on it since being restored. We purchased this vehicle from a long time collectors collection who passed away. He bought the car back in 1989 from the Imperial Place Auto Collection Museum in Las Vegas. The restoration is 30+ years old but looks like it was done only a couple of years ago thats how well the car has held up showing the quality of the restoration. This Cadillac has a very unique history as it was believed to have been exported and owned by Norwegian Royalty for many years before returning back to the US in the 1960's. We do not have any paperwork to document this but it is the story that goes with the car. In the past year it was recently serviced with new tires, new brakes, and attention to the fuel and cooling systems. The car runs and drives absolutely beautiful and looks stunning. With only minor flaws from age this car looks like it was just restored yesterday. The car needs nothing and is ready to drive and enjoy and show and will even win awards. It is very very nice so do not wait on this one.

Exterior: *Condition #2-

The exterior on this 1940 Fleetwood is stunning and absolutely gorgeous. Again the car looks like it was restored a year ago and not 30 years ago although it does have a couple very minor flaws from age which are all explained in the video. There are a couple spots with some paint crazing but you really have to look for it to notice it. The body is straight as an arrow, it has excellent fit and finish and the paintwork was a very high end paint job and is beautiful. The car appears to have been a very solid car to begin with as it has zero rust. Every piece of trim and chrome was completely redone to show quality condition. All of the glass is absolutely gorgeous and crystal clear, the emblems are new, the weatherstripping is beautiful, the wheels and hubcaps were fully restored and are sitting on brand new Firestone wide white wall tires. It has an absolutely beautiful presence, showing a very high end restoration was performed, and looks phenomenal. The worst spot is the left rear quarter which does have some minor crazing due to gas being spilled over the years, you don't really notice it but it is there. If you want we can inquire how much it would cost to fix as we do have an unbelievable painter here in town.

Interior: *Condition #2

The interior of this beauty is absolutely amazing and every single piece was completely restored to factory specs with factory OEM materials and components. The dash, the steering wheel, the chrome, the brightwork, carpet etc has all been fully restored or replaced and looks like a brand new showroom interior. The only flaw is a small crack in the speedo glass. Everything appears to work in the car including the horn, the heater, the speedo, gauges and courtesy lights. The AM radio turns on and works intermittently and currently the wipers do not work but we are going to have them looked at. Inside the trunk has been completely restored as well with correct materials, matching carpet, original white wall spare and jack. The car was done 100% correct and there is not one thing overlooked on the interior and you can look at the pictures and video for yourself and see how amazing it is.

Mechanically: *Condition #2

Mechanically this Cadillac runs and drives like a top. Being in a collection it was very well maintained. Before we bought it the estate actually took it to a restoration shop and had it fully gone through mechanically including new tires, brakes, fuel and cooling system. When you pop the hood it is absolutely show quality condition with its 346ci Flathead V8 and 3-Speed manual transmission. Under the hood has been very nicely detailed and looks like a piece of jewelry. The car runs and drives better than some cars only a few years old, its quiet, shifts smooth and goes straight down the road. It is a really enjoyable car to drive and doesn't have any squeaks or rattles or anything and is a very very tight car.

Under Carriage: *Condition #2-

The underside of this car is absolutely beautiful as well. It shows a little dirt here and there but you can tell that it has been complete, every nut and bolt restoration. It is solid as a rock and 100% completely rust-free with zero repairs after the restoration. It has the correct exhaust system which sounds great and is quiet as a mouse with no leaks. You could spend about a day underneath cleaning it if you wanted but it just has some dirt and grime from sitting and being used. It is an incredibly nice car everywhere you look and you will not find another one like it probably in the world.
