Overview:

Here is an absolutely gorgeous 1961 Corvette roadster that has been completely restored from the ground up. This car was recently traded into us on a high end Cadillac we had. The gentlemen just recently completed, a full restoration on the car and claimed to have had over $100,000 in it. There are also only about 500 miles on the car since it was restored. He told us he searched the country to find a '61 Corvette with a perfect body and frame to restore and build to his desired specs. He wanted a car that could be driven comfortably with some added conveniences not offered on these early Corvettes but yet keeping the factory appearance. I say he did a great job completing his task. Besides the stunning color combination this car is equipped with hidden Vintage air conditioning, 4-wheel disc brakes, aluminum radiator w/electric fans, fitted custom autosound stereo, leather interior and the list goes on. The body on the car is excellent and has never been in an accident with its original bonding strips. The frame is completely rust free. It has its correct 283ci V8 engine, which is a CE block, which means it was a counter exchange motor from when the car was under warrantee. This is truly one the finest running and driving early, straight axle Corvettes I've had the pleasure of getting behind the wheel of. It is a car you that you can jump in and drive with out any worries. We have the car priced to sell and it won't last long!!

Exterior:

This Corvette has an absolutely beautiful black paint finish that is straight as an arrow. It started as an accident free, perfect body with its original bonding strips that was stripped to bare glass. The black paint was hand rubbed to a smooth as glass finish. The fit on the body is excellent all around for a straight axle. Every single piece of chrome and trim was redone on the car and looks like new. It has all new emblems, all new glass and all new rubbers all around. It is sitting on its original wheels that have been powder coated with mint hubcaps and brand new OEM BFG wide white wall tires. This car has a truly striking presence and stands out in a crowd.

Interior:

The fawn beige interior is completely all brand new and was mildly upgraded with genuine leather seats and Mercedes style carpet yet keeping the factory look and appearance. All the chrome and trim is new along with all the gauges, which were restored. It even has a fitted, custom auto sound AM-FM cassette radio that sounds great. The vintage air conditioning system is nicely hidden in the car without seeing ugly vents and the controls are in the factory heater location. Everything works in the car, which include all the lights, gauges and wipers. Inside the trunk is beautifully restored with a black carpet mat and spare. The soft-top frame was all restored with a new black stay fast cloth top and new rubbers. The fit on the top is excellent, even when the windows are up. It is a very beautiful interior.

Mechanically:

The car runs and drives amazing. It has its correct, rebuilt 283ci V8 engine that is stamped CE, which means counter exchange. This shows the engine was most likely changed out under warrantee when the car was fairly new. There is only around 500 miles on the rebuilt engine. It is also backed by a rebuilt Muncie 4-speed transmission that shifts smooth as butter with a correct shifter linkage. The engine was upgraded with an aluminum intake and Edelbrock 4bbl carb. Under the hood is beautifully detailed and very clean looking. It has its correct air cleaner and ignition shielding to keep some of the factory look. The cooling system was upgraded with a custom-built aluminum radiator and electric fans. All the brakes were upgraded with Wilwood 4-wheel discs for superior stopping power. The front suspension was all rebuilt with new bushings, so the car is nice and tight and handles great. It has its stock exhaust manifolds with a new dual exhaust system that sounds excellent. This is truly one of the smoothest and nicest driving straight axle Corvettes I've ever driven. It also runs like a dream. This is a perfect car to drive on tours or even just around town.
